How to Play JASOTO Empire

Build businesses across Europe, improve them, manage staff and cash, compete for the strongest company and finish the game with the highest Empire Score.

1. Start your company

Choose one of six CEOs. Each CEO changes your strategy: Builder makes upgrades cheaper, Innovator boosts technology income, Investor starts with extra cash, Marketer gains stronger reputation, Negotiator specialises in contracts, and Explorer expands more cheaply.

Standard games start with £250,000, 3 staff and 3 actions per turn.

2. Use your 3 actions

Each turn you can travel along connected routes, open a business in your current city, upgrade an existing business, hire staff, advertise, or end your turn early. Online play validates every action on the JASOTO server.

3. Grow businesses

Businesses can reach Level 5. Higher levels cost more to build but increase income and final value. Staff create ongoing wage costs, so expanding too quickly can leave you short of cash.

4. Contracts, events and AI cards

Solo Empire includes rotating contracts plus Opportunity, Chaos and JASOTO AI effects. They can change cash flow, income, reputation and strategic choices, so no two campaigns play exactly the same way.

5. End of each round

After every player has acted, business income is collected and wages are deducted. A standard game lasts 20 rounds. If a timed online turn expires, the server advances the match so one inactive player cannot hold everyone else indefinitely.

6. How the winner is decided

Empire Score combines cash, business value, business levels, reputation, points and other achievements. At the end of Round 20, the player with the highest final score wins.

7. Online modes

Private Match uses a shareable code. Quick Match finds or creates a public lobby. Ranked records wins, losses, streaks and rating for the current season. Ranked abandons can reduce rating.

Beginner strategy

Do not spend all your cash immediately. Build one profitable route, upgrade a strong business, keep enough cash for wages, and only expand when the next city improves your income or position. Reputation helps, but a healthy cash reserve keeps your empire alive.
